Leadership Bytes ("Leadership Bytes," "we," "us," or "our") is designed to provide practical leadership prompts, challenges, posts, software recommendations, progress tools, reminders, widgets, and optional Premium features without collecting more information than the app needs to work.

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Leadership Bytes iOS app collects or processes, how it is used, and the choices you have.

Summary

Leadership Bytes does not require you to create an app account.

Leadership Bytes does not use third-party advertising trackers, sell personal information, or share app activity for third-party advertising.

The app uses:

- Supabase, an external database service, to load app content and receive optional in-app feedback.

- Apple iCloud / CloudKit to sync Premium progress data if iCloud sync is available for your Apple account.

- Apple StoreKit and the App Store to offer and manage Premium subscriptions and free trials.

- Local device storage and an app group container to save app preferences, progress, notes, and widget data on your device.

Information We Collect Or Process

App Content Requests

The app connects to our Supabase project to load conversation starters, weekly challenges, posts, recommended software, and trusted server time used for content release timing.

When your device makes these network requests, Supabase and related hosting infrastructure may process technical request information such as IP address, request time, device network information, and similar server log data. We use these requests to deliver current app content, keep the app working, troubleshoot issues, maintain security, and improve the content library.

The app may cache downloaded content locally on your device so previously loaded content can remain available while the app refreshes.

Feedback You Submit

If you use the in-app feedback form, the app sends the selected feedback category and your message to our Supabase database. The feedback form does not require an account, name, or email address. Feedback is anonymous to us unless you choose to include identifying information in your message.

Please do not submit sensitive personal information, confidential employer information, protected health information, financial information, or other information you do not want us to review.

If you contact support by email, we will receive your email address, message, and any information you choose to include so we can respond and provide support.

Progress, Favorites, Notes, And Preferences

Leadership Bytes stores app data on your device for app functionality. This may include:

  • Completed conversation starters and weekly challenges.
  • Favorited items.
  • Private notes you save for app content.
  • Progress summaries and last-updated timestamps.
  • A random personalization seed used for deterministic content fallback behavior.
  • Notification preferences and onboarding completion state.

This progress, favorites, notes, and preference data is not stored in Supabase and is not used for advertising.

iCloud Sync

For Premium users, when iCloud is available for the Apple account signed in on the device, the app may sync progress, favorites, private notes, and related progress metadata through Apple iCloud / CloudKit. The app stores this data in the user's private iCloud database so it can be restored or synced across Apple devices signed in to the same Apple account.

iCloud sync data is processed by Apple under Apple's iCloud and privacy terms. It is not stored in our Supabase app content database. If iCloud is unavailable or not enabled for your device, progress data remains local to the device.

Purchases And Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions and free trials are handled by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. Apple processes payment information, billing, renewals, cancellations, and refund requests.

Leadership Bytes receives StoreKit information needed to display available products and determine whether Premium features should be unlocked, such as active subscription entitlement status and relevant product identifiers. Leadership Bytes does not receive your full payment card number or App Store billing credentials.

Notifications

If you enable reminders, Leadership Bytes schedules local notifications on your device. The app stores your notification preferences locally. Leadership Bytes does not use a push notification server for these reminders.

You can change notification settings in the app or in iOS Settings.

Widgets And Shortcuts

The app may save a local widget snapshot in an Apple app group container so the Leadership Bytes widget extension can display current content or progress information. This data stays on your device and is used for widget functionality.

App shortcuts may open app destinations or perform Premium actions locally, such as marking supported current items complete or saving favorites.

Remote Images And Third-Party Links

Some posts and software recommendations may display remote images or link to third-party websites. When your device loads remote images or opens third-party links, those third-party services may receive technical request information from your device, such as IP address and browser or device information. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • Provide, operate, and improve Leadership Bytes.
  • Load current app content and maintain content release timing.
  • Save and sync your progress, favorites, notes, widgets, reminders, and preferences.
  • Verify Premium entitlement status.
  • Review feedback, support requests, bug reports, and topic suggestions.
  • Maintain app security, prevent abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not use app progress, notes, favorites, feedback, or purchase status for third-party advertising.

Service Providers

We use the following service providers and platform services:

  • Supabase for app content delivery and feedback submissions.
  • Apple iCloud / CloudKit for optional progress sync.
  • Apple StoreKit and the App Store for subscriptions, trials, purchases, cancellations, and refunds.
  • Apple UserNotifications, WidgetKit, App Intents, and app group storage for local app features.
  • Email providers when you contact support by email.
  • Third-party websites or image hosts when the app displays remote images or you open external links.

These providers may process information according to their own terms and privacy policies. We expect service providers that process user information for us to protect it appropriately and use it only for the services they provide.

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information.

We do not share personal information for third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

We may share information:

- With service providers that help operate the app, such as Supabase and Apple platform services.

- When you choose to open or interact with third-party links or remote content.

- If required to comply with law, legal process, safety obligations, or to protect rights, security, and integrity.

- As part of a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, if Leadership Bytes or its assets are transferred.

Retention And Deletion

Local app data remains on your device until you remove it, overwrite it, or delete the app. Deleting the app removes local app data from that device, but it may not remove data stored separately in iCloud.

iCloud sync data is stored in your private iCloud database and is tied to your Apple account. You can manage iCloud access through Apple device settings. Because this data is stored in a private iCloud database, we may not be able to directly access or delete it for you. Contact us if you need help identifying available deletion options.

Feedback submissions and support emails are retained for as long as reasonably needed to review feedback, respond to support requests, improve the app, maintain records, and comply with legal obligations. You can request deletion of a feedback submission by contacting support@leadershipbytes.co with enough detail for us to identify the submission.

Subscription and purchase records are managed by Apple under Apple's policies. You can manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple account subscription settings.

Server logs and operational records may be retained by Supabase, Apple, email providers, or other infrastructure providers according to their own policies and our service configuration.

Your Choices

You can:

  • Use the free parts of the app without creating an app account.
  • Choose whether to submit feedback.
  • Avoid including personal information in feedback messages or private notes.
  • Turn notifications on or off in the app or in iOS Settings.
  • Manage iCloud availability in iOS Settings.
  • Manage or cancel Premium subscriptions in your Apple account subscription settings.
  • Delete the app to remove local app data from your device.
  • Contact us to request deletion of feedback or support records that we can identify.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Leadership Bytes is not directed to children under 13, or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the app, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.

International Processing

We and our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries where we or they operate. These countries may have privacy laws that differ from those in your location.

Changes To This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the app changes. If we make material changes to our privacy practices, we will update the policy and App Store privacy information as appropriate before or when those changes apply.
